Recommended Inspection Procedure

Vehicles being picked up at a shipping facility:
*** Verification Requires Full signature of name and company that the individual represents, as well as the
date and time of the inspection. Verifier should also indicate the number of exceptions they are verifying
and circle the number.
During regular working hours the “receiving carrier” must obtain signed
verification of any damages from the “delivering carrier or designate.”
After physically reviewing the damage the “delivering carriers designate”
will countersign and note the time and date on the “receiving carrier’s”
document. The appropriate damage codes will then be entered into the
claims system for transmission to all appropriate carriers and General
Motors.
Outside of regular working hours (when the “delivering carriers designate”
is not present) the “receiving carrier/driver” must review the damage with
his or her loading supervisor.
If the damage to the vehicle is a severity of “3” or greater, the vehicle must
be held to have damages verified by “delivering carrier designate” prior to
moving the vehicle. This does not include missing items such as floor mats
and antennas. A damage severity code of 1 or 2 can be noted and shipped.
The document with the notations should be left with the individual (ie
security guard) or in a drop box as designated by the “delivering carrier” and
agreed to be the” receiving carrier.”

Vehicles being delivered to a carrier facility:
During regular working hours the “receiving carrier” must obtain signed
verification of any damages from the “delivering carrier or designate.”
After physically reviewing the damage the “delivering carriers designate”
will countersign and note the time and date on the “receiving carrier’s”
document. The appropriate damage codes will then be entered into the
claims system for transmission to all appropriate carriers and General
Motors.
Outside normal delivery hours:
The receiving carrier is obligated to perform an inspection of the dropped
vehicles within the time frame agreed to by the two interchange parties.
Again, the inspections must be entered and transmitted to General Motors.
